Now, upon reassembly, the slide will not go all the way back because the hammer is down. I did not try to push the hammer back in fear of damaging anything. Has anyone experienced the same issue ... The firearm itself has worked great for me, no issues with any ammo I have tried (Sellier & Bellot, Blazer Brass, Winchester White Box, American Eagle, hand loads). However, the magazines have been giving me quite a bit of trouble.Evidently, there is definitely something amiss with the guide rod assembly. As I mentioned above, try to manipulate the guiderod assembly with a dental pick or similiar object while "shaking" the pistol. Put the safety in the off-safe position. Oil collects dirt and that dirt will eventually gum up the firing pin.
