Unknown member Discussion starter. #5 · Aug 9, 2003. I've got an 11-48 myself. When I first dissassembled it I used the instruction manual on the remington web site for the 1100/11-87. They are similar enough that you should have no problem figuring it out. Basically you need to take off the barrel. then push out the two push pins.Bought a Remington Sportsman 48 (16 gauge) from a guy at work, got it cheap because it wouldn't cycle shells out. I tore it down (pulled the bolt and the trigger) and cleaned it, now it cycles sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. The Model 11 schematic shows very similar rings. My 11-48 doesn't have those two additional rings, only the friction ring.
