There is an Option 1 for 50 additional cars, which if exercised, would total 340 of the original planned 420 R179 cars. I favored the consultant's idea to just expand the DOT-styled borough letter combination to the whole system. So X1 would become SM1; though that sounds funny, because there were no privates using SM like the other three outer boroughs had and even the Atlantic express routes used the X.

(The B100 and B103 is with the rest of the Brooklyn bus routes and the Bx23 is with the rest of the Bronx bus routes.)
