The drive up to Emerald Bay from our hotel was very spectacular and scenic. I recommend arriving early as it was difficult to find parking along Emerald Bay Road. We decided to do the hike to Eagle Lake, which took around an hour or so to complete. The hike was a relatively short 2 mile round trip with less than 500 ft in elevation gain. Hiking to Emerald Point is an absolute dream. The trail contours the north side of picturesque Emerald Bay. It’s a relatively short hike at 5-6 miles (out-and-back). There’s only about 500 feet of total elevation gain to negotiate.
