The dual wield hammer moveset is not amazing. The AoW is strong and has infinite hyper armor and huge range, but is very slow. So if you mean PvP, it could do some real work in teams or FFA, but only people totally unfamiliar with it will get hit by it in duels. Single two handed hammer moveset is, ok, but not amazing either.

The one good thing is that it does insane poise damage so it can stagger most enemies. I feel like if the skill was buffed in some way the hammer would be a lot more viable. Or even better, just change out the skill to something else, like maybe having it be that triple floor slam combo that radagon does in his boss fight. Sword, for farming runes or mob clearing cos the AoW as HUGE range. The Hammer's AoW has great dmg assuming you have 5 seconds to spare to proc it. Hammer Ash of war is harder to read in PvP, but sword is much better for farming runes for easy levels at Mohgs Palace.
