Put new Mopar thermostat in, and the JK still runs at 220 on average. Took JK to my other mechanic. He did some research and found that drilling a 1/8" hole in thermostat will allow Jeep to run cooler. Decided to drill hole. The Jeep is still running hot. About 220. Test the O2 sensors, they can get old and slow to react. Typical O2 sensor service life is about 100,000-150,000 miles. Replace the coolant temperature sensor on the thermostat housing.

The JK is well known for being difficult to get all the air out of the system. Often times taking multiple attempts. To start with I would open the radiator cap and make sure it is full, right up to the top. Then keep the overflow bottle level at least to the min line.
