And then I opened top part of distributor to check the contacts and closed it without touching anything. Now when I start the tractor it runs for few seconds and start to backfire. 8N Gas Flow Problem. About a year ago, on my Ford 8N, I drained the gas tank (by running the engine until it went dry), removed the hood and gas tank to get at the radiator and change axles.
