Garleans.

Character development on the Garleans was poor IMO too, with no indication as to how much of the ♥♥♥♥♥ actually live other than Jullus and his crew, it's also incredible how so much bloodlust over the years has just been swept under the carpet, I'm hoping patches 6.1 and above address the blatant racism between Garleans and Eorzeans.

Garleans. Things To Know About Garleans.

Garleans can't use aether or magic of any kind, and their civilization as we know it literally sprang up in the span of one lifetime thanks to their crude interpretations of ancient Allag. Pretty much everyone else can use aether so it's more of a natural integration of technology versus Garlemald's perpetual wartime-like advances.I was kinda saddened that they took a different route with Alexander, because of what he is, I always kind of expected the Garleans to use him. Granted Alexander's always been known for his Judgement attack, though in the eyes of the Garleans they are the 'good' guys, they just have a really different way to approach things than we do.I'm a little late to the party no doubt, but I recently got to replay the Ivalice raids and got to thinking why aren't there any Garleans in the first? As far as I'm aware both the Garleans and the Proto Garlean race had the third eye and should have existed since the Sundering, so I find it very suspicious that there's not a single one left alive in Norvrandt yet alone any mention of such a race. Pugilist Lv 70. Waking Sands - Explain to me please (Spoilers) Alright, so something that happened is bugging me and I am hoping someone can make sense of it. 1 - Waking Sands is over run by the Garleans, people are killed and kidnapped. Empire clearly knows this location of the Scions (as given away by a possessed/controlled Thancred). Sure brain wash did push everything to extreme. But racism toward Garleans is the first reason they have to live on this icy cold plain. While I don’t agree with Garleans’ almost ‘revenge’ like conquering, it does make me think are we the bad guys and is this problem even solvable. Gridania can’t even solve the racism inside itself.

The Garleans only really appeared as a race compatively recently though (within the last few thousand years) and their inability to manipulate aether within their bodies (and thus are unable to cast magic) has nothing to do with Zodiark and the Sundering, it's just an odd biological quirk (same with their third eyes).Garleans are a race of people who control the Garlean Empire faction in Final Fantasy XIV. Emet-Selch body-jacked an existing Garlean. The region's vast deposits of ceruleum led Garleans into developing magitek: a revolutionary technology conceived to compensate for their disadvantage. Though magitek made Garlemald a world power, Aulus mal Asina saw it as a temporary solution to an intrinsic problem, which he believed could be solved by manipulating the Garlean genomes.Garleans get no bonuses for spatial recognition and from a technical perspective they aren't even a race, just Hyurs and Elezens with unique faces. The third eye is purely cosmetic in this respect. From a lore perspective, this only means that they're more aware of themselves and things around them. All Garleans lack the “genetic” trait needed to manipulate aether, however pure blooded Garleans may “see” it with their third eye.
