So is the 870. Thing is, between a 40 year old used gun and a new one, I'd still get the new one. True on the 40 year old thing. In my experience shooting with friends I have seen nothing but issues with the 870 compared to my 590a1. Everything from shells not ejecting, hanging up to front sites falling apart/losing pieces.
