The stock carburetors on a predator 212 or Honda GX160 or any other smaller engines are designed for the stock engine which has a governor to limit the rpm to around 3600. If you remove the governor or make other adjustments to increase rpm then you will need to get a Mikuni or a Mikuni clone carburetor to get more power out of the engine.

Letting off completely doesn't let the carb freely close back up. If that Predator is a 212cc then a .036 jet is a good hotrod jet for it, same thing I'm running. You also need to replace the low jet when you put in the .036, or it'll have all kinds of trouble. Mine's now a .022 low jet.

Couple the low initial cost with the super competitive and very reasonably priced aftermarket parts and you’ve got a recipe for the #1 engine for go karts. Since valves in the Hemi engine are moving at an angle to the piston, if you increase the lift or duration of the cam or make any changes that push the valves further down for a longer duration, you'll reduce the clearance much faster in an hemi as compared to the non-hemi.
